PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a noise absorber which has a simple structure and to which a cable can be fixed by flexibly matching to the diameter of the cable. SOLUTION: This noise absorber is provided with a pair of magnetic cores 10 and 11 formed by dividing a cylindrical magnetic core in the cylindrical direction and a split cases 12 and 13 which can respectively house the cores 10 and 11. In this noise absorber, notched sections 151-158 are formed nearly perpendicular to the contacting surfaces 101, 102, 111, and 112 of the cores 10 and 11 and parallel to the center axis of the cylindrical core between the openings formed around the center axis of a case formed by uniting the split cases 12 and 13 into one body at both ends of the case and the outer peripheral section of the case. In addition, cable retainers 123, 124, 133, and 134 formed between two adjacent notched sections are imparted with resilience so that the they are displaced in the radial and axial directions of the cable.
