PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the developing device of a color image forming apparatus whose constitution is simple, which is made compact and whose cost is reduced. SOLUTION: The color image forming apparatus by which a color image visualized with the developer of a plurality of hue is transferred to a recording medium is provided with a developer supplying device 16 consisting of a plurality of developer supplying means 40-43 to supply the developer of respectively different hue and a single progressive wave electrode device 17 to feed the developer of each hue supplied by the developer supplying means 40-43, and the developer of each hue supplied by the developer supplying means 40-43 is fed to a single developing area by the progressive wave electrode device 17.
