PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce weight and improve various functions such as an impact absorbing property and a vibration absorbing property. SOLUTION: The seat is provided with a torsion bar 12 widthways disposed in the rear of the seat part 10, an arm 13 connected with the torsion bar 12 and always energized by the torsion bar 12 in a normal state in a backward reclining direction and a plane support member 15 disposed between a support frame 14 supported by the arm 13 and a frame member provided in the front of the seat part 10 and expanded by resilient force of the torsion bar 12. The seat structure allows a spring property exerting comfortableness at seating and on sitting to be provided by the torsion bar 12 and the number of coil springs otherwise required in the close proximity to sides of the seat occupant body to be reduced or eliminated.
