PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine for detecting game balls surely and with good accuracy by an optical detecting means mounted on a take-in device. SOLUTION: This game machine is provided with a take-in device for sequentially taking in game balls stored in a storing part and detecting take-in of the game ball at every time, whereby a game is started on condition that take-in of the game ball is detected by the take-in device. The take-in device is provided with a game ball passage 167 formed in the direction of gravity drop of the game ball to pass the game balls in a line, and a gate piece 175 for permitting or inhibiting take-in of the game ball through the game ball passage 167. The game ball passage 167 is provided with optical count sensors 201, 202, and the respective sensors 201, 202 are fitted in light transmission holes formed in a passage wall to be positioned.
