PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio/video information recording and reproducing device in which a post recording function on an optical disk is easily realized employing an inexpensive disk drive having a relatively slow speed seek time. SOLUTION: When a video file is to be recorded, the file is continuously recorded on the optical disk for a duration which is related to a time equal to or more than three times a seek time. When dubbing audio is to be recorded, the dubbing audio is continuously recorded for only a constant data size and in parallel to the above, recorded video file is reproduced so that real time continuous reproducing and recording are simultaneously conducted. Thus, simultaneous reproducing of the video and the audio files is guaranteed when the dubbing audio is reproduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
