PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader such as a copying machine for improving the service performance by preventing the reading apparatus from being jumped out even when original platen glass is removed. SOLUTION: The image reader such as the copying machine is characterized in that the image reader touches the prescribed position of a case accommodating the image reader with a very small moving amount and is prevented from being suddenly jumped out from the case when the original platen glass is removed.
