PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a herbicide for paddy fields having high safety to paddy rice and having high effect and wide treating period to annual and perennial weed species in wide range of paddy field. SOLUTION: The herbicidal composition for paddy fields comprises four kinds of herbicidally active compounds of 2,3-dihydro-3,3-dimethyl-benzofuran-5-yl-ethane-sulfonate (general name: benfuresate), N<SP>2</SP>, N<SP>4</SP>-diethyl-6-methylthio-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diamine (general name: simetryn), 4-(4-chloro-o-tolyloxy)buthylic acid (general name: MCPB) and S-4-chloro-N-isopropyl-carbanyloyl-methyl-O,O-dimethyl-phospholodithioate (general name: anilofos) as active ingredients.
