The invention relates to a method for recovering and drying a solid contained in a pumpable liquid. In a first treatment section, the liquid is fed continuously or in a batch-by-batch manner with an addition rate to a device provided for evaporating and drying, said addition rate being matched to the evaporation rate, such that the moisture content of a yielded intermediate product takes a predetermined value. In a second treatment section, the intermediate product is, after completing the addition of liquid into the device, likewise dried until it comprises a predetermined residual moisture. The invention provides a method whose simple and time and energy saving application enables solids to be recovered from pumpable liquids which pass through a product tenacious phase during an evaporation phase or a drying process and/or tend to froth during the evaporation phase.
