<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a security system which detects whether a mechanical key is stored in a portable unit. <P>SOLUTION: This security system 11 is provided with the portable unit 14 and a transmitter-receiver 15 provided at a vehicle 12. The mechanical key for emergency is provided in the portable unit 14.
