<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing device and information processing method enhanced in security by preventing the illicit access to the information processing device. <P>SOLUTION: Only when a predetermined operation is accepted or a voltage is applied in a predetermined order, power supply is started. Otherwise, when an operation differed from the predetermined operation is accepted, processing such as stopping of power supply, stopping of a CPU, prohibition of reading of an HDD, deletion of data in the HDD, or formatting of the HDD is performed.
