<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a signal transmission system adaptable to an electromagnetic shielding room which can transmit a signal at a low cost without damaging an electromagnetic shielding property of the electromagnetic shielding room. <P>SOLUTION: The signal transmission system is provided with a waveguide which is formed so as to intercept an electric wave of a set frequency of the electromagnetic shielding room and penetrates the electromagnetic shielding room from the outside to the inside, an infrared converter and a luminescence device which are arranged outside (or inside) the electromagnetic shielding room and transmit signals transmitted by using infrared rays as mediums, a photodetector which is arranged outside (or inside) the electromagnetic shielding room and receives a signal wherein infrared rays are made medium, and a converter which reconstructs the signal wherein infrared rays are made mediums from the photodetector to a transmitted signal.
