<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispersion compensation fiber module in which the temperature dependency of loss variation is reduced and which is excellent in impact resistance and to provide a reel for dispersion compensation fiber module. <P>SOLUTION: In a dispersion compensation fiber module 10 which is equipped with a reel 1 consisting of a cylindrical trunk part 2, two guard parts 3, 3 joined to both ends of the cylindrical trunk part 2 and a dispersion compensation fiber 5 which is wound around the reel 1, the trunk part of the cylindrical trunk part 2 is made of a fiber reinforced plastic which contains ultra high molecular weight polyethylene fibers and at least one of the two guard parts 3, 3 is made of a fiber reinforced plastics which contains ultra high molecular weight polyethylene fibers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
