<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an optical fiber preform, which is related to a method for manufacturing an optical fiber, and by which the degree of the eccentricity of a core can be reduced in a rod-in-tube method. <P>SOLUTION: Before heating and drawing a quartz pipe 21 and a quartz core rod 22, the quartz pipe 21 is adjusted to be perpendicular by using a plumb bob 31 or a laser displacement gauge 32 so that the axis direction of the quartz pipe 21 coincides with the center axis direction of a heating furnace . <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
