PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vortex flowmeter for accurately measuring a flow having a low flow rate with good repeatability. SOLUTION: The cross section of a measuring channel section 18 where a vortex generating body 21 and a vortex detector 2 are arranged is made up in an elliptical form whose minor axis is in a direction identical to the longitudinal axis of the vortex generating body 21 and whose major axis is in a direction perpendicular to the the longitudinal axis of the vortex generating body 21.
