<p>The present invention concerns non-human transgenic animals as model study for human pathologies, being transgenic for having altered melusin expression. The non-human transgenic animals are to be used as models to study heart pathologies and provide therapies thereof, wherein the heart pathologies are heart failure, and in particular diluted cardiomyopathy.</p>
