<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outboard motor capable of eliminating exclusive specifications for a manual handle and a remote-controller device and shortening an assembling time at reduced cost. <P>SOLUTION: This outboard motor 1 is provided with a propulsion unit 2 mounted on a hull 15 and the manual handle 21 performing steering operation for changing the direction of navigation. The manual handle 21 is provided with a manual operation part, an electric operation part, and an alarm means. The propulsion unit 2 is provided with a mechanical connection part performing the mechanical connection of the manual operation part and an electrical connection part connecting with the electric operation part and the alarm means electrically.
