PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit and reproduce a multichannel sound signal at low cost. SOLUTION: Sound signals of respective channels are encoded by an oversample low-amplitude resolution encoding means respectively and the oversample low-amplitude resolution encoded signals are sent out, channel by channel; and the oversample low-amplitude resolution signals which are sent out are decoded into analog signals by a decoding means provided on the side of a speaker system and the decoded analog signals are applied to a speaker system to reproduce a multichannel sound.
