PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a running control device for a vehicle capable of realizing the stable creep running, independently of the whole weight of a vehicle containing passengers and cargo on each occasion and road surface condition (a road with a slope or a graveled road or the like). SOLUTION: This running control device for a vehicle is provided in a vehicle, which is provided with an automatic transmission 2, and provided with an idle speed control means for controlling the idle speed so that the idle speed becomes the predetermined target idle speed. This running control device for a vehicle is also provided with a target idle speed setting means for setting the target idle speed in response to the vehicle speed when a determination that a shift position of the automatic transmission 2 is positioned at a running position is done and non-operation condition of a brake device 4 for stopping the vehicle is detected.
