PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data recording method with which reproduction and real-time postrecording on a general MPEG (Moving Picture Experts Group)-2 PS (Program Stream)/TS (Transport Stream) decoder are possible and also discontinuity of reproduction at the time of perfroming non-destruction editing of the result of the postrecording is small. SOLUTION: In this audio and video data recording method, an original stream file and a postrecording data file are managed respectively as different files and also data are constituted as partial data (CU (Continuous Unit) and CA (Continuous Area)) which is divided for every prescribed spacing respectively in the original stream file and the postrecording data file.
