PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle approach notification system for allowing a user to recognize the approach of a vehicle by a portable terminal by setting a frequently used train station or bus stop, and makes it possible to catch a vehicle, which might be missed if the user walks at usual pace, by walking at an increased pace after that point in time. SOLUTION: This vehicle approach notification system for individually notifying the approach of a vehicle to a target train station or bus stop to a user from the current location of the user, is provided with a recognizing means for recognizing the current location of the user, a decision means for deciding the vehicle requested by the user, a recognizing means for recognizing the approach of the vehicle to the target train station or bus stop and a notifying means for notifying the approach of the vehicle to the user according to the recognition.
