METHOD FOR DETECTING REGISTER ERROR OF MULTI-COLOR ROTARY PRESS, REGISTER ERROR DETECTOR, AND AUTOMATIC CONTROL DEVICE FOR REGISTER ADJUSTMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the register error of a register mark with high precision.

SOLUTION: The register error-detecting method comprises the steps of: printing the register mark by each printing part on a traveling paper at a multi-color rotary press; flashing a light source based on a reference signal from a signal output means actuated synchronously with the preset rotation of a preference plate cylinder to output a signal; reading the register marks printed by all the printing parts using the synchronized reading means with the flash; developing the marks into matrix data, from which a first centroid is sought as an approximate one of each register mark; obtaining a second centroid as a high precision one of each register mark again from the matrix data using the first centroid as a basic point; obtaining the relative position of the second centroid of another register mark using the second centroid of one predetermined register mark as a reference; and obtaining a deviation between the obtained relative position and the preset reference relative position to consider the deviation as a register error.
