PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of faulty fixing and the shortening of the service life of a heating roller by detecting the abnormality of the heating roller in a printing device in which an electrophotographic system is used. SOLUTION: This electrophotographic printing device is equipped with a heating roller for fixing a toner image held on a web to the web by fusing and a means for detecting that the heating roller reaches a specific temperature at least in binary manner. Moreover, the device is equipped with a means which detects the abnormality of the heating roller by monitoring time till the roller reaches a specific temperature and time till the roller becomes a temperature lower than the specific temperature after it reaches the specific temperature.
