SILVER HALIDE PHOTOSENSITIVE MATERIAL AND DOT AREA IMAGE FORMING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photosensitive material which ensures a small variation of properties with passage of time from dispersion to coating and a small variation of performance between production lots and in each lot, is excellent in spectral absorption of a magenta dye at long wavelength and in color tone reproduction of magenta, and ensures a small color tone variation of a magenta image due to long-term storage of the silver halide photosensitive material, and to provide a dot area image forming method using the same. SOLUTION: The silver halide photosensitive material has on a support a pyrazoloazole type magenta coupler-containing layer containing a silver halide emulsion having an average silver chloride content of≥95% and a yellow coupler represented by formula (1), wherein the magenta coupler-containing layer also contains a compound represented by formula (HP).
