PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a coated paper for printing, having good suitability for coating when coated by a film-transferring method, having a low density, flexibility, and suitability for the printing with good glossiness of print, inking property, etc.; and to provide the coated paper. SOLUTION: The method for producing the coated paper for the printing involves coating a coating liquid containing a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) of≥0.1pt. wt. and <2.0pts.wt. based on 100pts.wt. of a pigment, on a base paper containing an organic compound having activities for inhibiting interfiber bonding of a pulp by the film-transferring method in offset for coating the coating liquid containing the pigment and a binder on the base paper.
