PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new curing agent for use in an epoxy resin-containing curable resin composition, as a latent curing agent, having excellent surface curability, storage stability and curability in a depth. SOLUTION: This curing agent comprises a compound represented by formula (1), wherein R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>each independently represents a 1-15C monovalent hydrocarbon group, X represents -CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>O-, -CH<SB>2</SB>CH(CH<SB>3</SB>)O-, -CH<SB>2</SB>CH(C<SB>2</SB>H<SB>5</SB>)O-, CH(CH<SB>3</SB>)CH<SB>2</SB>O-, -CH(C<SB>2</SB>H<SB>5</SB>)CH<SB>2</SB>O-, -CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>O- or -CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>O- and n represents an integer of 4-12.
