PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an industrial germicidal composition which has markedly reduced decomposition of an isothiazoline-based compound even in long-term preservation and develops excellent control effect. SOLUTION: The industrial germicidal composition comprises 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one and 1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one in the ratio of 1,1-2.3 wt.% of 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one and 1.5-3.0 wt.% of 1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one as active ingredients and is obtained by formulating 100 parts wt. of 1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one with 45-125 parts wt. of 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one. Since stability of each active ingredient is improved in the industrial germicidal composition, decomposition of each active ingredient is markedly reduced and the industrial germicidal composition keeps excellent control effect even in long-term preservation.
