The liquid nitrogen (4) tank (1) feeds the evaporator unit (5), producing nitrogen gas (3) under pressure. This applies pressure to sea water (8) in the sea water tank (12) of the reverse osmosis unit (9). The sea water is forced through a membrane. Heat exchange with the sea water takes place in the evaporator. Constant evaporation of liquid nitrogen displaces sea water from the tank (12), filling it with nitrogen. The nitrogen gas under pressure, is then removed from the sea water tank by a pressure line (7) and stored as an energy source in the buffer tank (11). It is used to supply control equipment (10, 14). It is also be used for pressurization and transport of sea- and potable water (16). Wind-, solar-, water- or magnetic motor energy drives an associated air liquefaction plant to make liquid air and/or nitrogen. This is then used to make potable water autonomously, as described. Other liquefied gases may be used. The plant is static or mobile. A remote upright or horizontal tank can be used to supply liquid nitrogen. Safety equipment is included. The plant is for mobile use by land, sea or air. The plant is complete on land or water, or may be in sections in the sea. Residual nitrogen is vented to air.
|
