摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical memory device having a large capacity and high-density memory as well as a recording/reproducing speed equivalent to or faster than present phase-change optical disks by making it possible to reproduce recorded information consisting of microrecording marks recorded by irradiating a recording medium with a condensed laser beam by utilizing a near-field write probe when reproducing. <P>SOLUTION: The optical memory device is provided with a recording medium 20 equipped with a recording layer 24 composed of phase-change recording material on substrate 21, an optical unit 2 for condensing a laser beam from a laser light source 10 and irradiating the recording medium with the laser beam, and a near-field light head 3 for being located at an opposite side sandwiching a recording medium between the optical unit and detecting transmitting light from the recording medium and performing reproduction of the recorded information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
