<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of a vehicle capable of controlling a clutch and a transmission by the less number of rotational speed sensors. <P>SOLUTION: In the vehicle, a continuously variable transmission is installed in a transmission route connecting an engine 1 to drive wheels 33, the clutch 3 is installed between the engine 1 and the continuously variable transmission, and a switching mechanism 6 switchable at least between a forward position and a neutral position according to the operation of a shift lever 65 is installed between the drive pulley 11 of the continuously variable transmission and the clutch 3. The vehicle also comprises a shift position detection means 66 detecting the position of the shift lever 65, an actuator 28 switchingly operating the switching mechanism 6, and a clutch control means 4 controllably disengaging and engaging the clutch 3.
