<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass article polishing method which allows stable supply of polishing slurry without blocking of supply of the polishing slurry or backflow of the supplied polishing slurry, and also to provide a glass article polishing device implementing the method. <P>SOLUTION: The glass article polishing method employs the polishing device provided with: a rotation axis 11 having a hollow portion 14 formed therein; a polishing head 12 which is connected to the rotation axis 11 and has a through hole 15 communicating with the hollow portion 14, to thereby rotate together with the rotation axis 11 in one body; a polishing slurry supply pipe 19 irrotationally arranged in the hollow portion 14 in the rotation axis 11; and a polishing pellet 13. According to the method, the polishing pellets 13 of the rotating polishing head 12 are abutted/slid on a surface of a panel glass 16 by applying a predetermined pressure, and while the polishing slurry 18 is supplied to an abutting surface 17 between the polishing pellets 13 and the panel glass 16 via the polishing slurry supply pipe 19 in the hollow portion 14 in the rotation axis 11, and the through hole 15, the panel glass 16 is polished. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
