PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production management system capable of recognizing a manufacturing lot of a semiconductor chip contained in a semiconductor device, the number of a semiconductor wafer, and the position information of the semiconductor chip in the semiconductor wafer without increasing a process time and simply without the hindrance of manufacturing on an entire line owing to troubles of related apparatuses and networks not only in a manufacturing step of the semiconductor device, but also after the shipping of the semiconductor device or even after the semiconductor device is assembled into a certain product. SOLUTION: The production management system of the semiconductor device comprises steps of storing lot numbers, wafer numbers, and chip position information in a wafer as an identification code of the chip; printing an identification code 5 on a lead frame 4; reading the identification code 5 and lead frame position information, and storing them as a package identification code 6 while linking them with the identification code 5 upon chip packaging; linking a chip identification code and the package identification code 6 for being stored as a product identification code; and printing the package identification code 6 on the package.
