PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select at high speed a non-defective product from a defective product in a manufacturing process of a tablet by providing a density estimation method of the tablet for estimating the tablet density at high speed by using light and a tablet inspection device for performing weight inspection by using the value. SOLUTION: In this density estimation method of the tablet, a relation between lightness of a tablet appearance image or a contrast value and the tablet density is determined beforehand, and the tablet density is estimated from the lightness of the tablet appearance image or the contrast value. This invention includes the density estimation method, a weight estimation method of the tablet for estimating the tablet weight from the size of the appearance image, and this inspection device using it.
