PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly concentrated, low-viscous calcium carbonate slurry which shows a sharp particle distribution profile and is excellent in dispersibility and fluidity. SOLUTION: Lime milk, obtained through absorption of carbon dioxide by slaked lime milk, is concentrated to achieve a solid content of≥30% and heated and dehydrated at≥100°C to form a highly concentrated cake. After granulating the highly concentrated cake, water and a viscosity-reducing agent are added to form the slurry with a desirable concentration. This yields the low-viscous, low-flow slurry having a concentration of 70-90%. The highly concentrated slurry is used to manufacture coated paper excellent in printability.
