PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening and closing mechanism of a trunk lid capable of improving operation property more than a conventional mechanism and holding the trunk lid stably at a fully opened position. SOLUTION: This opening and closing mechanism of the trunk lid closes an opening part of a trunk room provided in an automobile. It is provided with an arm 10 provided between a vehicle body and the trunk lid to support the trunk lid so as to open and close, a spring 20 energizing rotation to the direction of opening of the arm 10, and a hydraulic damper 30 reducing rotation speed to the direction of opening of the arm 10 against energizing force of the spring 20.
