A method for integrating cordless telephony, data network, and broadband connection is disclosed. Preferred embodiments of the invention are configured to provi de one or more of the following tasks: (1) support voice over a WLAN with QoS with enhanced power consumption and range; (2) provide for both broadband telephony and PSTN access; (3) utilize a broadband connection to deliver content to a cordless handset; and (4) utilize a wired data terminal to provide enhanced telephony functions.
