<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a home network system and its operation method for restoring the system and user data of a home server constituting the home network system by depression of a restoration button by the user when a failed state due to functional impairment of the home server is impossible to restore. <P>SOLUTION: Data backup is performed by: automatically backing up, in an internal data base, the initial system data of the home server which controls/manages the home network with which many household appliances are connected; and periodically transmitting data updated/stored in the home server to a portal server connected via the Internet. Thus, lost data are automatically restored by utilizing the data backed up in the portal server in the case of the functional impairment of the home server, the convenience and economical efficiency of maintenance/management of the home server are enhanced and the stability of a home network system to be controlled by the home server is secured. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
