<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fixing a handrail of a bathtub, by which the handrail is fixed to the bathtub wall without penetrating an asphalt waterproofing layer inside the bathtub wall for preventing water leakage and efflorescence due to water intrusion into the bathtub wall, in a large bathtub made of concrete. <P>SOLUTION: When forming the bathtub wall 10 by applying the asphalt waterproofing layer 12, a mortar layer 13, a tile base 14, and the like to a raised concrete wall 11, a metal fitting 3 having a raised short support member 4 at the center of the upper surface thereof is fixed at the top end of the mortar layer 13 to be embedded in the mortar layer forming the tile base 14 so as to protrude the short support member 4 upward. A head board stone 2 is provided with an insertion hole 7 for the short support member 4, and the short support member 4 is inserted through the insertion hole 7 before the head board stone 2 is laid and fixed on the top end surface of the bathtub wall 10. Further, the short support member 4 protruded from the head board stone 2 is fitted with the lower end of the handrail 1 composed of a pipe body, and the handrail 1 is fixed to the short support member 4 with screws or the like. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
