<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of scaling processing and color space conversion processing in response to a demand for image quality and a processing speed. <P>SOLUTION: A controller 5 controls a scaling processor 3 and a color conversion processor 4 to perform processing at a shorter processing time sequence between a case of performing the color space conversion processing by the color conversion processor 4 posterior to the scaling processing by the scaling processor 3, and a case of performing the scaling processing by the scaling processor 3 posterior to the color space conversion processing by the color conversion processor 4. Further, when a plurality of scaling methods are provided in the scaling processor 3, the controller 5 controls to select a scaling method for the scaling processing.
