PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal shaft pump capable of realizing miniaturization of a pump, easy maintenance of a driving machine, and allowing a low water level for pumping. SOLUTION: In this horizontal shaft pump 10, a water path in the pump is made eccentric on its way so that a center shaft of a pump suction port 31 may be flush with that of a pump discharge port 33 and the center shaft of the pump suction port 31 may be positioned so as to be lower than the center shaft of the pump discharge port 33, and an impeller 15 is stored in the water path on the pump discharge port 33 side. The driving machine 19 is installed in an upper space of the water path formed by the eccentricity on the pump suction port 31 side, and the driving machine 19 and the impeller 15 are connected by a pump shaft 53 installed horizontally.
