PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass composition which has excellent alkali resistance and acid resistance and can suppress devireification on spinning, and in which alkali metal ions are less to apt, and which has satisfactory adhesive strength with resin and is suitable as a reinforcing material for glass fiber reinforced resin, and to provide a glass fiber. SOLUTION: The glass composition has a composition of, by mol, 50 to 60% SiO<SB>2</SB>, 0.1 to 10% Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 20 to 45% MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO, 0.5 to 20% TiO<SB>2</SB>, 0.1 to 10% ZrO<SB>2</SB>, and 0 to 2% Li<SB>2</SB>O+Na<SB>2</SB>O+K<SB>2</SB>O, and in which BaO/CaO is 0.3 to 1.6 by a molar ratio.
