PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of preventing response property from being impaired even when steering torque changes abruptly and preventing unstable steering. SOLUTION: This electric power steering device is provided with a differential signal storage means RAM17e for storing an output signal value of a differential means differentiating an output signal of a torque sensor per predetermined period of time and a difference computing means 17h for computing difference between an output signal value stored this time among the output signal values stored in the differential signal storage means 17e and an output signal value stored at preceding time. An assist current computing means 17h computes the output signal value stored this time as an output signal value of the differential means when an absolute value of a computed value by the differential computing means 17h is smaller than a predetermined threshold value and computes a value obtained by adding the same value as the predetermined threshold value to the output signal value stored this time as an output signal value of the differential means when the absolute value of the computed value by the differential computing means is larger than the predetermined threshold value.
