PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel product having excellent coating peeling resistance under atmospheric environment. SOLUTION: The steel product is used after being subjected to descaling, to application of an organic Zn primer and then to coating and has a composition consisting of, by mass, 0.001 to 0.20% C, 0.10 to 0.40% Si, 0.5 to 2.0% Mn,≤0.020% P,≤0.010% S,≤0.020% Al, 0.10 to 0.30% Cu, 0.30 to 5.0% Ni, 0.10 to 0.30% Cr, 0.30 to 2.0% Mo and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities or further containing≤0.010% Ti and/or one or more kinds selected from≤0.2% Nb,≤0.2% V and≤0.005% B and/or one or more kinds selected from≤0.2% Zr,≤0.006% Ca and≤0.006% REM, and having the balance Fe with inevitable impurities.
