PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the device size of a radiological reader that detects stimulalbe light representing a radiological image from a plurality of radiological conversion panels exposed to radiation while placed one over each other. SOLUTION: The radiological image conversion panels 10A and 10B which are exposed to the radiation through a subject and arranged one over the other are moved by a separation unit 40 in parallel relatively to each other to be separated and the radiological image conversion panel 10B is arranged at a read position R1. Onto the radiological image conversion panel 10B arranged at the read position R1, a detection unit 39 equipped with one detection head 30 is moved, and the detection head 30 detects stimulable light which is generated by the radiological image conversion panel 10B and represents the subject. Then the radiological image conversion panel 10A is arranged at the read position R1 and the detection head 30 detects stimulable light which is generated by the radiological conversion panel 10A and represents the subject as mentioned above.
