The cassette for the holding of long objects such as drills (7,8) comprises a bottom section (1), with an inwards facing moulding (2) and a lid (3), and a vertically movable stop component (9) in the bottom section and which in the region of the end wall has a stop wall (9.1) and which lies opposite the points of the drills. The stop component is designed to counteract wedging of the drills through a deflecting movement. One or more spring elements may be provided to carry out a deflecting movement.
