<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continue printing without trial-and-error by a user, if a memory required by a printer driver for processing cannot be assured, when printing is carried out using a personal computer with a finite storage device. <P>SOLUTION: A printing system for preparing printing data can be generated in an available memory area, if a work memory capacity required by the printer driver for print processing is larger than the available memory capacity (1). In the system (1), printing is continued by automatically changing the printing setting of the printer driver (2). In the system (1), printable resolution to bring the maximum printing quality in the available memory area is calculated, and the memory is assured, according to the resolution (3). In the system (1), a choice of execution of printing even under reduced printing quality is provided (4).
