<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery having an improved over-discharge cycle performance. <P>SOLUTION: The non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises a covering material 2 formed of a metal plate or a resin impregnated sheet with a thickness of 0.05-0.25 mm, a positive electrode housed inside the covering material 2, a collector formed of aluminum or an aluminum alloy housed inside the covering material 2, a negative electrode held by the collector, and contains a negative electrode active material for occluding lithium at an potential of 0.4V or higher to the electrode potential of Li, and a non-aqueous electrolyte containing γ-butyrolactone, housed inside the covering material 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
