<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image of high image quality having neither image defect nor unevenness in print quality such as gloss by performing exact temperature control of a fixing member 20 independently of variation in input voltage or variation of resistance value of a fixing heater even when a fixing belt with an elastic layer is used as the fixing member 20. <P>SOLUTION: After start of power delivery to a fixing heater 16, a fixing device predicts maximum power supply to the fixing heater 16 according to rise time of temperature sensed by a main thermistor 18 or a sub-thermistor 19, and corrects output power according to the maximum power supply at the time of output of power necessary for stable operation of the fixing device 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
