PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to select whether to improve the reliability of screen data transfer or to shorten the transfer time of screen data. SOLUTION: The screen data to be displayed on a graphic operation panel (GP)1 is created by a plotting editor 32, and is transferred to GP1 via a communication cable 7 in a form of a memory file recognizable by GP1. The transfer is performed either in a concurrent processing mode in which the screen data is transferred every time for every screen data is transformed into the memory file form or in a consecutive processing mode in which all the screen data to be transferred are transformed into the file form and then these screen data are transferred in batch. In the concurrent processing mode, the processing speed is high although the preceding transferred screen data are wasted if an error occurs at the time of transformation into the file form. On the other hand, in the consecutive processing mode, the processing speed is low although the screen data transfer can be interrupted if an error occurs at the time of transformation into the file form.
