PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape cutter capable of easily setting the length of a pulled-out tape to a specified value even when the tape is excessively pulled out from a tape roll. SOLUTION: A tape holder 18 with a large diameter gear 21 integrated therewith is turnably provided on a turnably supported rocking arm 17, the rocking arm 17 is spring-urged so that a small diameter gear 26 connected to a rotation accumulation means 22 is engaged with the large diameter gear 21, the tape holder 18 is rotatably urged in the opposite direction by accumulating the rotational force in the rotation accumulation means 22 when pulling out the tape from a tape roll 10, the rocking arm 17 is turned so that the large diameter gear 21 and the small diameter gear 26 are separated from each other by the tape cutting operation, and the accumulated force of the rotation accumulation means 22 is released simultaneously with the tape cut.
