PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pad printing method which can simply perform high definition full color printing on demand while making full use of the printability, to an odd-shaped surface to be printed, of a conventional pad printing method. SOLUTION: This pad printing method forms a transfer pattern 1 on one surface side of an intermediate transfer member 2 as a reverse image using a thermally melting ink 3; sets the surface where the transfer pattern 1 of the intermediate transfer member 2 is formed, opposite an object 4 to which the pattern 1 is transferred; aligns the pattern 1 to the printing surface 5 of the object 4; and retransfers the thermally melting ink 3 of the transfer pattern 1 to the object 4 to achieve the printing of the pattern 1 by pressing the contact surface with the object 4 of the transfer pad 6 which is formed of an elastic member and heated to a temperature for melting the ink 3 through the intermediate transfer member 2.
